This workshop is geared towards the beginner: In a fun and non-intimidating environment take that first step in sculpting a human face out of clay: Your face! Learn how to place features in proper proportion by first drawing the human face and then translating it into clay. Learn basic techniques of hand building with clay and the slab-construction of a clay mask. Depending on the location and the availability of a kiln, masks will be fired after they are dry – usually one to two weeks later. A second workshop can follow on how to apply cold finishes (paint) to the masks. This workshop can be geared towards any age group: children, youth adults.
