Neither Here nor Gone

Michaela Macenauer · 2026

Somewhere between presence and disappearance. Two figures exist beneath the surface, almost entirely dissolved into layers of color, movement and gesture. Only a trace remains visible — just enough to suggest that something, or someone, is still there. I wanted the figures to be felt rather than seen. To exist in that uncertain space between memory and presence, closeness and distance, appearing and fading away.
